Oh tell me once and tell me twice
When we who part this weary day,
When windflowers blossom on the sea
Then we who part this weary day,
Yet tell me once before we part,
If flowers must blossom on the sea,
My cheeks are paler than a rose,
My heart is like a lump of ice
Oh weep or laugh, but let me be,
For life's in vain since we must part,
Till windflowers blossom on the sea
Pale rose of roses, let me be,-
By Christina Rossetti (1830-1894).
