Cellini, Benvenuto (1500-1571):
  • Cellini's Autobiography. Italian goldsmith, sculpture, and engraver, Cellini's is "one of the most interesting autobiographies ever written ..." (Chambers.) He lived alternatively, for some years, between Florence and Rome and was conected with to the most influential individuals of the age. Interestingly, Chambers informs us that Cellini was as "expert with sword and dagger as with his goldsmith's tools."
